On this day 52 years ago David Bowie released his follow up single to Space Oditty, "The Prettiest Star" featuring an unknown Marc Bolan on lead guitar. The single only sold 800 copies.

Friday night so music time. From a band that was boiling over to the night they blew up. 

Anyone remember the days that you couldn’t take cameras to a gig? There was a bit of history with the guy in the crowd, but the ever troubled and temperamental Axl took things into his own hands. The rhythm guitarist quit after this show, and he was more important to the sound of the band than his relative anonymity suggests.
