If you feel you needed to do it, then it was the right thing to do. Does that mean you will no longer be a mod on the channel? If so, thanks very much for your services 🙂 Drop me a private message if you like.

Well done mate I joined gamstop back in 2017 And just coming up to 3 years in September best thing I ever done. Looking back at my life then it was crazy constantly on my phone at work betting. Currently 9 months into a bookies self exclusion bar a couple of small slips it’s going well. Wish you best of luck pal

Good on you stepandstop, it's a tough step to take. I've not gambled online for around 5 years, although I came close to the other night after losing about £400 in the bookies, I registered on casimba, got to the deposit page and just managed to convince myself it's a bad idea.

Thankfully I bank online with Starling and Monzo, so quickly opened up the apps and put the gamblock on the transactions. I just can't gamble online as it's too tempting to be one click away from a bet

I sure hope things work out for you. People say with any habit that it's a large part of their life. Have you found new constructive things to do, gambling sure takes up a lot of my time.

Thanks @The crisp manand @Skippy888
online gambling’s obviously good when your winning I won £708 off 9p dead or alive 2 last year Probably put that back now

I was a low roller and £25 could last me 2 hours on low stakes

so I’m now dedicating my spare time listening to the wife nag me more over DIY jobs

is there a website for WIFEBAN 👍

Good on ya pal, I don’t know too much about you personally but sounds like you’ve taken the decision to put the brakes on as you worry where it’ll head.

I had a similar situation about 15 years ago where I took a look at myself and knew where this would head, decided to stop all fruit machine play (growing up in seaside town, that was always my poison of choice). I used to play every day, and now I play sometimes once or twice a week or leave them alone for months. Be strong @Stepandstop 💪

Thanks @BlindHazeim sticking to playing tuppeny nudger now not played it in Southend arcades yet 😁

Haha! The gamble on that one was rigged too 😉

Funnily enough, after I took a couple of year hiatus from fruit machines, my first foray back into it was 5p/10p plays back on Southend seafront - I actually really enjoyed it, I could nudge, hold and play a feature rather than have the machine do it itself. I enjoyed the interaction and felt that I had a bit of ‘insider knowledge’ to push the odds nearer my favourite.... something you don’t get with FOBTs.....

On a more serious note, I honestly wish you well and hope that you can do what I did and become a StopandStep voyeur like I did for many years 🙂

Good for you step. You know it’s the right choice, when you get to the point of hating gambling but do it anyway you need to stop.

Im on Gamstop and it works, there appears to be little “direct” way around it. Ive also heard horror stories of people getting around the security briefly, making multiple deposits in short order, winning a large sum and at cash out having the account blocked, the winnings confiscated and only the last deposit returned, so, what’s the point in that? Win and you still lose!

Also I wouldn’t touch a non UKGC site with a barge pole or try pulling the VPN trick, you’ll either get caught and the above will happen or you’ll simply get ripped off with no avenue of recourse.

I do have access to one online account for sports betting which is set up in another persons name. When I want deposit I transfer them the money and they put it in through their card, any withdrawal the reverse happens. It’s a family member who I trust.

Also on that particular site you can exclude from individual parts of the site which I’ve done so the only portal available is sports betting.

All the very best to you mate.

Good on you, I joined up 2 years ago and the best thing I’ve ever done.

I was depositing £10 here, £20 there, all adding up so at least half my wages was going online gambling, I used to find when I had a drink I had to gamble.

i used to be addicted to Montezuma, only playing on 30p and 60p stake, always seeking that once in a blue moon 1200x bonus where the 10x retrigger would happen and keep retriggering.

Funnily enough what made me stop was a win, I drunkenly played Book of Dead one night, had deposited £50 and played it on 60p a spin, got the top symbol bonus, 4 of him rolled in for a 1000x win.

Ended up cashing out £700 in the end and realised I wasn’t excited or happy about it the next morning, to me £700 is a lot of money but I just felt empty and thought “I feel crap if I lose, I don’t feel much better if I win, what’s the point?”

So I walked the dog, got back and straight away joined Gamstop.

You will probably have cravings for a week or 2 but they’ll pass.

It also had the added benefit for me of not wanting to gamble at all, I’ve only been in the bookies once in 2 years, and played fruities once in a pub also, I put £3 beer change into wish upon a jackpot last winter, got a 3 pigs feature on 25p which paid £20, I cashed out and not played since.
