Spirit Of Christmas

Loved the video today Darren... Well Done!

And I mean that mosr sincerely... The compassion and patience you showed Trev in the bookies alone was worth the watch, he obviously was down on his luck and perhaps with a touch of special needs but none of it took any of the friendlyness out of his voice. A lot of people would have felt intimidated and pushed him away yet the simple act of talking to him and offering to buy him a sandwich made his day.

I shall end by wishing you and all a fantastic new year with Arcades, Bookies, Casino's and Bingo Halls all re-opened and may all your losses be small

I get where you're coming from,  but he didn't offer to buy him a sandwich..   the guy asked Darren to buy him one..

he was on the ponce, scrounging off people he thought had won money,  the Bookies should have thrown him out

It was pretty obvious the guy was harmless and clearly not the sharpest tack in the box. I don't think he should have been thrown out but staff should have advised him to leave other customers alone. As for all the "well done's" if your gonna hit someone for the price of a sandwich you could hardly stand behind them calling them a jammy bastard. Darren could have at least got the guy a roast dinner, I mean, Jordan gets 15%.😁😁😁

I must admit StopandStep has a lot more patience than me. When he said he hadn’t eaten for 3 days followed up by him saying he’d also been mugged yesterday... Well mugged for what if you can’t afford food?!

I'm sure I've heard that guy before in the background of the older bookies videos. I've been pestered many times playing at bookies (another positive about arcades). But there are a lot of people out there who are desperate and lonely or both. Personally for the cost of a £2 sandwich for the amount I've shoved in the machine over the years is nothing.

On a different note when I used to work in a bookies, one of the "regulars" used to know where the ball landed in roulette (from the moment someone pressed spin). Unfortunately he started to stand behind people and say, "number 8" as soon as they pressed spin. We had to speak to him several times to tell him how annoying he was!

I remember those days! 'It's number 8 mate', thanks!

Haha just watched the vid. Fair play Darren you tolerated him well, especially as you weren’t winning.

the $6m question is though... Did you buy him a footlong BMT with a cookie and juice out of Subway?!?!?!?

Boys obviously on hard times but they really should be chased from the bookies especially once they start “begging” even if it is just a sarnie, it’s not really on.

Fair play for dealing with the guy so well.
