Thing is though, the influencer (in this case stopandstep) has no responsibility to you the player.

yup he plays on a certain site and de facto promotes and provides links from their site/channel to sites they are affiliated with.

In fairness I don’t see stopandstep actively stating “play here, play here” for any site. The advertisement is through association only.

Bonuses on sites are generally available by going straight to the site and bypassing the affiliate anyway.

He has no control over a players account or the verification requirements or the length of time it takes to get withdrawals processed.

He is rewarded through the link by association whereby if you use the influencers link the get a payment for introducing the player…. In terms of online gambling this reward is usually a cut of the players losses…. From that very mechanism people should decide if influencers are “the punters pal” or in it with the casino to generate money from a players losses.

Its very much a situation of “buyer beware” I’m afraid.

That's a very good point mate. Live and learn I suppose 🙂

on the plus side got my payment in full today. Only took 24 hours from being told identification was needed and getting the payment in my account. So all in all a good service. Just a shame they didn't tell me in the chat that identity documents where needed but only added 2 days total until I received the money so not too bad in comparison to some stories.

the casino isnt a bad one. The mobile site is very well done which is a bonus for me. The withdrawals will be fast in the future too so no worries. I'd give them 4 out of 5. As they did make a mistake but was apologetic and the issue was sorted pretty quick. The issue was caused by the guidelines all casinos follow, they really should ask for identification on deposit not on withdrawal, but I can't blame MR Q for that as all casinos are the same.

Glad you got your money, it’s actually pleasing when any company holds their hands up and says ‘yep, we ballsed up, but we’ll get it sorted ASAP’ which seems to be what happened here.

On the subject of affiliation, I agree with The King here that StopandStep doesn’t forcefully promote casinos and it’s buyer beware. If you’re a pessimist (or a realist) like me, you know you’re going to lose in the long run. If I lose £100, then I’ve lost £100. According to my bank balance, it makes no difference whether the casino gets it all or the affiliate takes some too. I’ve watched StopandStep’s videos for years for free, so why not leave a tip for him?

It takes a split second to make a deposit and it should be the same when getting paid out. Even if someone deposited £500 a month on average this can hardly be a suspicion of money laundering. I bought an item from Euro Car Parts the other day, I paid cash £19.99  in their, shop, not on line. The item was not suitable so I returned it the next day in the same shop. The guy said he had no cash in the shop but he could put it on my card, so I agreed. As I was leaving the shop I turned round and asked, "by the way, how long before it's paid onto my card?" His reply, "28 days"????? I helped a friend repair some decking for one of his customers, he said he would pay me £300 for helping him. When we finished he asked the customer for payment, she took his bank details and said she would pay it later that day. My mate called me at 10pm that night complaining and cursing that he had texted her 3 times because he hadn't received payment yet. I saw him this morning and, asked if he had heard anything. He said yes, she paid the money in at 10.30 last night and he would transfer my £300 into my account. As yet I've not seen a penny.

My point, everyone's AT IT! It's a term I've used here before AT IT! because everybody is At It.

Some people are obsessed with money, they idolise it, its their God. I can't stand these tight arse wankers, they piss me off something rotten. I have a very good mate, I've known him over 50 years. One day I left my wallet on a job which was 2 hours drive from my home. It was safe but it had my cash and cards in it. So I said to my mate do me a favour and lend me fifty quid until I get my wallet tomorrow.

Eh, what, ooh, err. Well I thought he was going to have a fucking seizure. He's not a mate, he's a tight arse tosser.

When it comes to money, NOTHING WOULD SURPRISE ME AT WHAT LENGTHS PEOPLE WILL GO TO GET IT OR KEEP IT.

They say you can't take it with you but these arseholes will die trying. Rant over.

We're normally on the same wavelength but I can't agree this time. Let's assume Darren has chosen slot videos and the occasional stream as his sole chosen profession / source of income. His main earnings will come from affiliation. He can sell merchandise if he wished, no problem there. Accepting donations though? I can't agree with that. Asking for or accepting money from his viewers/followers I believe is wrong.  Car mechanics publishing videos of car and engine repairs don't ask for for money to buy tools and spanners etc. If he continues as he has done in the past he can hold his head up as someone offering fun and informative content without handouts. 😁

Fair points. I think I’ve said on this topic before that I have cognitive dissonance about this subject, as it’s the same tactic used by tobacco companies many years ago who weren’t promoting smoking, just ‘switching to their brand’….

I think the practice of affiliation generally can be bad, although it’s probably more dangerous in the hands of certain hat wearing streamers who pretend to play £200+ spins and always walk away with a massive profit every session. I think with StopandStep, you see the wins and the losses, good sessions and bad sessions, warts n all. He doesn’t pretend that online casinos are a sure fire way to make money.

On a complete side note, during me and Ms Haze’s Friday night beer and music session yesterday, I thought of you - I’m looking to book the 16th September off work if you’re heading Golders Green way this year.

Post of the day 😂😂

Can I second this. I have read it several times since last night and find it hilarious.  @Mentholdan you never fail to make me laugh. It reminds me when I volunteered in BHF years ago. One day I told the manageress I wouldn't be in on the Wednesday as I had a hospital appointment. She replied with the quote "when are you going to make the time up " I was like wtf it's voluntary.

Tell me about it, like when you sheepishly ask the next door neighbour for your lawnmower back that you lent him last summer. 😁

I've noticed that the little tubby guy from Chipmonkz slots, I think his name is Spud or something like that? Anyway, he has begun to explain  regularly that his stream survives on money from affiliation and how that works.  He explains that his money comes from losses made from people who sign up to casinos via the links he provides. He's also keen to point out that people should gamble responsibly and that help is out there for anyone that needs it. So he's basically saying his live streams wouldn't be able to continue if people didn't lose their money? Only yesterday he won 20k + on a £5 bonus on Wanted Dead or a Wild. A nice win you say? but this money was won whilst wagering a £500 matched bonus, something that you or I are not priveliged to. It does not reflect how your average Joe Bloggs plays. If a slot streamer is playing slots in another country with the privelige of bonus buys and matched deposits then its fake. Plain and simple.

Well done on the win, I was just catching up on this thread. First payments are always the slowest because of verifications, but you are right, all casinos should ask on the first deposit, not first withdrawal. I'm glad you got your money ok 🙂

Sorry if I've missed some additional points from others in this thread, feel free to ask if you have a direct question.
