YouTube are removing dislikes

YouTube are rolling out the removal of dislikes across its service. Viewers can still see and click the dislike button, but the ratings will be hidden. In a way this is good as it cuts down on dislike spam, but I also use dislikes as a metric to see if people liked the video or not. 

What do you think? They've started rolling it out from today, but I doesn't appear to be on my channel just yet.

Surely the channel owner can still see the dislike tally but its just hidden from the viewer otherwise its pointless having a dislike button. Imo its good to remove it as the trolls lose a tool to use. Should just be a like button i think.
 

Darren you can still find out what people thought of video via likes and more importantly from feedback in comments.

Come off it, would you like the next election ballot sheets to have all the names removed bar one?

I think there will always be people who spam the like/dislike button, often within seconds of a video coming up. I think it can be good feedback for a streamer if taken with a pinch of salt.
