Random ID check?.

Recommended Posts

I was in Corals this morning and some one putting a bet on and one of the staff who was serving said. "Oh its come up here random ID check". The person been served must have been in his 60s too. He said i got no id. I dont no how the situation ended but now it looks like a computer can just ask for your whole ID at the desk when been served.

If this happens to me especially collecting winnings i will just say not a chance. You didnt ask me when im loosing does it.

It feels more and more like control over you and wants to no every ones personal info all of a sudden.

Totally wrong and probably against the law. Not sure about uk funnily enough but I do know that in the USA you don’t have to provide ID to the police unless they have “probable cause”

Saw 2 posters in William hill today saying that they might ask for ID as part of customer service or something along the lines.. Nothing to to with legal age gambling age either looks like more control as said.

I wish i could remember what they say word for word but any way it doesnt look good for future.

This sort of thing drives me crazy. The only time I think it’s reasonable to ask for such information is if you’re applying for a mortgage.

I just spent £800 at Amazon, they asked for no information and accepted the payment. If I put £30 onto my online casino account, it seems that they’ll soon want to know everything down to my inside leg measurement.

I honestly think the UK is trying to strangle the online gambling environment to death. The removal of autoplays was my biggest gripe, although they also removed bonus buys (arguably a not unreasonable idea) and also mandated a minimum 2.5 seconds per spin. If you go to an arcade, you can withdraw £1000 from an ATM and spunk it all in half hour on turbo spins - and a lot of arcade machines don’t even have the 20 minute warning that pops up.

Looks like I’ll be reduced to playing lower RTP bricks and mortar games in the not too near future. If PP asks me for such instructive information, then f**k em.

I was chatting to one of the operatives in my local Coral and he told me his terminal flashes up messages as fobt player lose money, sometimes suggesting the operative go and discuss level of gambling with customer. He said currently they only do it very occasionally if the customer looks approachable and only once.

There is no way I am ever going to give a bookie any information about my finances, apart from what is absolutely necessary to maintain an online account. I only sports bet online and over the years some have been closed, a couple restricted and recently one bookie asked me to supply more information ( which I refused to do) and the account is currently blocked.

Rather than supplying financial information to bookies, it makes far more sense for the government  to mandate banks to offer a service you can opt into restricting the max amount which can be transferred into gambling organisations via debit card etc. I mean our bank already knows about our finances.

I go in with £10 a day when I go for a walk but I recon they be asking me soon. They do know me by name but not second name so thats good. They wont get to no where i live or my second name either. Think it be smith that day.  Last week though i won £250 on 50 from a £10 which keeps me going.  If they out right ask for id thats a no. Ive been going in for last 4 years and not once asked for ID and shouldn't now as seen as im a regular.

That does sound like quite the experience at Corals! Random ID checks can seem out of the blue, especially if you're a regular or obviously of age. These checks are part of regulatory efforts to ensure responsible gambling, but I get how it can feel a bit intrusive.

Alright bot, calm down.

Saw a regular in my local wills other day. Foaming at mouth swearing, Calling williamhill names. He managed not to hit machine but was close. Saw him a few days later talking to me calling williamhill every name under sun and said that day he lost £500 with out bunus or anything. Its these people what should be checked when they stat foaming at the mouth.
