Wagering requirements

I’m a bit of a novice with online casinos so this may be a really stupid question so go easy on me!

I signed up for an account and accepted their 100% deposit match up to £100. The wagering requirement is 40x which is probably pretty standard.

After a low stake session yesterday, I managed to end up £85 in profit. However checking the wagering, it remained at £4000. I thought this was a bit odd so went on the live chat. They’ve told me that wagering will only start after you’ve lost all you original deposit (ie, your real money).

Is this normal? Do you have to lose all your money before you can even try to meet the wagering requirements for the bonus?

Like you I'm also a novice when in comes to on-line casino's but it sounds like a good way of reducing the chances of them paying out on the free plays they have given away...  Look at it as a way of extending your play time and surpressing any chance of a withdrawal... I'm becoming a real cynic in old age.

Still best of luck and enjoy your play mate.

It just seems really unusual to me, having to lose all your original cash deposit before you can actually start to try to hit the wagering for the welcome bonus. It was one of StopandStep’s links from this forum, I thought ‘if I’m going to lose, someone may as well get something out of it!’

Ah well, think I’ll just withdraw and retire a massive £80 up. I guess not many people can say that about an online casino!

@BlindHazeit depends on what casino you are on

With dream Vegas I joined and deposited £40 and got a £80 bonus so the balance says £120

wagering only starts when your £40 is gone if you hit a big win you can withdraw but you will have to forfeit the bonus

my wagering was 35x so 35 times £120 =£4200 to wager

I played on 10 and 20p for what seemed to be months but I managed to cash out £264 👍

some casinos offer a sticky bonus so wagering starts with your initial deposit but read the terms and conditions

Well, I managed to withdraw ok, forfeited the bonus though but won’t be going back.

Maybe I should have properly read the T&C, maybe the T&C should be a bit clearer, maybe this sort of ‘bonus’ shouldn’t exist at all…. Either way, all sorted from my end and meeting some old workmates for a beer on Saturday so that’s covered the expense nicely 🙂
