FOBT v Online

I know the most people will be glad with the stake reduction but is it just me that thinks online has much worse potential and tends to go unnoticed?

Both also have options to self exclude and although it is impossible for every branch of the bookie to know who you are, but there are more and more casinos coming up every day to sign up to and although you can set deposit limits they can easily be altered.

Online risk is far greater and I can say this as someone who had an online problem for 7 years losing thousands and thousands.

Just my opinion but it's far harder having actual cash in your hand and throwing it away rather than sitting behind a screen where money doesn't feel like money.

A huge number of people will likely lose there jobs cause of the reduction while online casinos will flourish and they are much much more dangerous i feel. I personally think the government should look at the bigger picture of things and consider a stake limit online aswell?

I know there is gamban etc but if you are a compulsive gambler you'll never do anything about it until you want to.

On Tuesday nights Wifey and I play with £100 in small stakes on The Grand Ivy site. It will last all evening, sometimes we get lucky but even when we lose its still a good night. The bookies are never going to pay over 500/1 , and I am guessing bringing a bottle or two of wine with snacks would be frowned upon in William Hill.      I doubt very much we could wear our pyjamas, so online gets my vote.

They're both dangerous.  I say online can quickly become disastrous. I remember burning through 2k in an evening many years ago, because it's not physical money it didn't feel as real.  I haven't bet online since. But people find it more fun and it does have a lot of potential.

I also did a load one night a few years ago, I won a poker tournament on Sky and did about £1500 before sunrise. Its all about self discipline, I look forward to my Tuesday evening and dont go near any slots untill then.

I know a sneaky score on Extra Hit Chile can quickly turn into a hundred or more, so I dont /darent log in to any site.

I think Darren's and The Bandit's videos help, it is almost a  sort of substitute for playing with my own money!

That's why I stopped watching the bandit, I loved how genuine his videos seemed (like how thousands of people experience of slots). And then the reel king gambles started, and he won and I was like awesome, top fella. Then after the 50th I was like meh, this isn't for me anymore. Which is a shame as he is an entertaining youtuber.

The bandit is a good laugh, the problem I have is that he can do these massive bonus buys and gamble them without really missing the money. I am not jealous, each to their own, but anyone can get a spectacular win by gambling the bonus spins to the max.

I like the way the bandit only focuses on the bonus hits, or random features, I would like Stop and Step to do the same.

Both are dangerous but online can be a whole different planet.

in my worst day I was £3.5k up and ended up £9k down (12.5k swing) inside an hour and that was whilst sitting at my desk at work!

from then on if I get the urge, I sign up to a site and immediately set the monthly deposit limit at £10🤣.

I do my online betting thru Betfair and WH as both allow you to self exclude from casino, Vegas, bingo etc. Whilst keeping sportsbook open. Works for me.

I do think online is a life wrecker waiting to happen for some now, at least the bookies closed overnight, online it’s 24/7 and need regulated better.

Embarrased?  Why? The problems only start when we play outside our budget. I play 20p or 40p spins and enjoy it.

If you watch casino grounds vids on YouTube how many are playing ultra low stakes 40p and getting a good return.
