So why Stopandstep?

Where does the name Stopandstep come from, any particular reason?

It was the name of a feature on 90s fruit machines. One reel would spin, you’d stop it and the other reels would step to match it.

Yes, mostly JPM fruit machines from the 90s. It was often the 2nd or 3rd feature up and could pay jackpot (£10/£15).

Actually I’ve seen an old barcrest fruit machine in Blackpool which had a feature step and stop this also one of the worse features jackpot of £5

It could do, I usually ended up with mixed 7s though... 😉

Search 'JPM fruit machines' you should see a lot. Fruit machines aren't anywhere near as playable nowadays.
