Non GameStop withdrawal issues

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me out, I self excluded on GameStop as my partner has a gambling problem and had been using my accounts, however I do like to have a little go on the slots myself every now and again.
I signed up to captain marlin who are not on GameStop (daft I no) I deposited £20 no problem with MasterCard, and I ended up winning £175 ! I thought it must be my lucky day and I withdrew. After sending all my documents my account was verified and my withdrawal accepted. It has now been 10 days and I still haven’t received my payment, I have emailed, used the live chat, called them and they are basically telling me to wait!! I am getting really frustrated now, can anyone help shed some light?

Hi, I'm not familiar with the casino but you should certainly not try to bypass Gamstop (which I think you know already), as you'll start playing at unregulated casinos and potentially run into all sorts of problems. Saying that, £175 isn't a huge win for the casino, so I would think it's unlikely they would try and keep it without paying out. maybe they are just really slow at paying the first withdrawal. Keep chasing it up and keep us updated. Ask them why it is taking so long if everything is verified.

Hi,

thanks for your reply! Yes I no I should stay well clear of these casinos, I have well and truly learnt my lesson! I have asked them they are saying that they are trying to send my payment but they are having technical issues and the money they are sending keeps getting sent back??!! They said they will keep trying! It just screams scam to me

You said you paid £20 with your MasterCard, but did you do it via Apple Pay or something similar? If so, that can cause a delay with withdrawals as it uses your token ID/device ID for the payment which differs from the card number. If you’re on iPhone, go to Wallet then the 3 dots in the top right hand corner and it’ll show the 2 different numbers which you can send as proof that it’s the same payment method.

The reason this may delay it is because casinos are cautious of fraud and chargebacks. If the withdrawal method is seemingly different to the registered card, then they’re very wary about paying out. The scam goes something like this:-

Punter registers a casino account.

Punter sends in docs to verify card ending 9999 and deposits £5

Punter then registers another card ending 1111 and deposits £1000

Punter has a little gamble, decides to call it a day and withdraws the balance on to card ending 9999

A week later, Joe Bloggs checks his balance on his account he realises that his card ending 1111 had fraudulently been used by Punter to deposit £1000 at a casino.

Joe Bloggs raises a chargeback and claims the amount back. The casino can’t defend as it’s a keyed transaction and can’t evidence that Joe made the transaction.

Punter has already done a runner and has a zero balance at the casino. The casino is now out of pocket by £1000.

Hi,

thanks for your reply, I didn’t use Apple Pay, I used my MasterCard card, it had to be exactly the same payment method you used to deposit which it was. I know it would only be a loss of £20 but to me it’s the principle, if you rightfully win , meet all the requirements, send documentation, had the withdrawal accepted and still waiting without any valid answer as to why, then something isn’t right!

Unfortunately these companies have no principles. If they are not on Gamstop, they are not registered by the UKGC, but are willing to accept UK players ( assuming you are a UK player). I would count yourself lucky it was only a £20 deposit, I've heard horror stories of people depositing £1000s and not been able to withdraw a penny, and as the casino is not UKGC registered its near impossible to withdraw or get your deposit back.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong and they do pay you your winnings, but even if they do it might be wise not to use them again.

Hi, yes I am from the uk, this was my thoughts exactly that it was only a £20 loss and it could have been a lot worse. I don’t expect for one minute that I will receive and money, and I  most definitely will not be using any of these scam sights again
