Portrait mode is bad, here's why :

Like many people, I watch on my pc/laptop which leaves a lot of wasted screen. People who watch on their phones can rotate them to watch full screen with no wasted screen. We can't rotate our pc/laptop, especially when you are watching on a 4k screen.

Darren has confirmed a dislike of portrait mode so I don't think this will happen again. Good to know.

It doesn't matter about rotation anyway, the recording itself cuts off important video - the terminal screens are landscape, so filming in portrait chops the edges off as your photo shows.

Portrait is good for portraits. Landscape for everything else.

I was just trying it out because it is a lot easier for me to record in portrait, but people hated it! We won't be seeing it again, unless it's for the rare YouTube Shorts.
