Horror Story

If you feel unlucky, I challenge you to beat what happened to me yesterday- I must be the most unlucky c*** in the world for what I describe below to have happened to me!

I had been using 888 all night after winning on MrQ’s.  Woke up In the morning and played Monopoly Live and won about £300.  Did the big grocery shopping and lost my £300 profit back and decided since I had money in there already, I’ll use my 888 poker account via the app.

The trouble is that 888’s poker app is s*** when you switch it to casino on live games.  For some reason it doesn’t display the bet side of things unless you press the X on the top left then you have to quickly place your chips before it switches back to full screen on live casino.  it’s really annoying and tricky to do but I thought it’ll be fine when I stick it on auto play.

I was down another $150 and was doing a $24 bet, 4 on 5, 4 on 10 and 8 each on the rolls.  I had just added a chip to all 4 places a spin ago and reconfirmed the auto play… it hit 4 rolls… BUT IT HAD NOT PLACED MY BET!!!!!  🤬🤬🤬 why?  Because of that stupid reality check reminder which I could not see nor did I hear because of this ridiculous switching thing it does on this crappy poker app!  Oh and guess how much it paid?  Sod’s Law!  183X!  $1440 profit down the drain plus a tilt session that lost me another £600!

I wrote an email to complain but I know they won’t give me a penny or a cent!  I could have deposited into the casino app itself and not had this issue but I already had money in the poker app and you don’t get paid in weekends by the tramps at 888.
Of course, if I had played on the casino app I’d have been getting the same units in £s rather than $s and won even more money.

So basically I missed one spin and that spin was the 183X!  Sick!!!

Gambling is hard work, especially on line, it requires a high level of concentration and you need your wits about you. It's quite common to have a headache after a gambling session, from the focus needed and from the screen if you are playing on line. I play in poker tourneys at my local poker club. When I know I'm going to play at the club I make sure I'm well rested. It's no good doing a day's work and then playing in a 8 hour tourney the same evening.

I feel for you and your rotten luck but you have to be on the ball. The on line casinos shouldn't put reality checks on the screen whilst a game is in progress, it's bad form.

What do you mean by reality checks?

Some sites come up with warnings like you see on the FOBTs saying ‘you’ve been playing 20 minutes and inserted £100’. I’ve not come across them online though.

Funnily enough, I was completely the opposite when it came to tournament poker. Used to go on the cheapo Monday night at Genting straight from work if I were off the next day. Lost more than I won, but it was a really nice crowd, I’d always know at least 10 of them. If you made it deep, it could be 3am by the time you left. I think I was just there for the beer and the company really.

I think it was about £10 to enter and £10 if you wanted to top up after the first break. And £10 to buy back in if you went bust in the first session. Small fry which is why most people took it quite lightheartedly.

Oh, I see! Thank you for clarifying that for me!
