Scatter patterns

I often wonder if the pattern of the scatters for a bonus has any bearing on what the bonus might pay. Has anyone noticed anything while playing?

Someone mentioned something like that to me a long time ago. I guess it's possible if the bonus is pre-determined, but you'd need a lot to be able to look for patterns. There used to be an old triple-player fruit machine called Red, White Blue and you could tell the value of the bonus from the first win.
