Anyone got a good story about how they chose their username? Not wishing to speak for others, but I believe StopandStep chose his name from a 90s fruit machine feature (which only ever paid me £1.20 for mixed sevens...). Maybe yours was simply a drunken headbutt on the keyboard or perhaps there’s a story behind it.

Sorry @AlexCross but I’m guessing you’re is obvious 😉

Urgh, Big Bucks... another fruit machine I never had much luck on! But I’m glad it valued that feature at £1.20 too! 😂

You didn't answer your own question! Was it something to do with buying 5 pints and getting the 6th free?

I used to be a fairly sensible commenter on my local newspaper under the name of Mr Chips. However, my personality changes depending on the scenario. For instance I’d speak to my boss differently to how I’d talk to my 4 year old niece, and also how I’d talk to my similarly aged brother when we’re in the pub. So I created Blind Haze. He was meant to be a shortsighted, reactionary fellow with no serious idea of what’s going on and he wandered through life blindly in a haze (just walk down Southend seafront after dark and you’ll see the type...).

As for the avatar, it was a picture I took in a local pub that tickled me. It’s a fairly decent pub but I like their dismissal and rejection of the ‘we promote sensible drinking’ mantra. We all know drinking excessively is bad and this was a middle finger aimed squarely at it. Damn nanny state.... 😉

One of these days, someone will join the forum and take “stopandfruit,” “pickandwin,” or “mixnmatch” as their username. 😂

As for my username, it’s based on my nickname from high school. Not much of a story behind it.

What about your avatar, blackjack or poker? I used to play a bit of poker, it's probably one of the most sociable forms of gambling.

Definitely poker, my favourite game. 🙂

I agree that it’s a very sociable game, at least at the live tables that I have sat at over the years.

The avatar is also used as part of the logo of my YouTube channel, ClubMikeV.

Nothing special with mine, it's just the title of a song, "The lilac hand of Mentholdan" My old dad God rest his soul had a team of labourers working for him, their nicknames, "which everybody knew them as and always called them by were" Chuckles, Slash, Long Harry, Bingo Charlie and Porky. Nobody paid tax in them days. 😁😁

Definitely.

It is an instruction on how you want you favourite football team, Crewe, to launch an attack.
